Recreational Cheer at Hero Athletics is the perfect place for athletes to build cheer skills, confidence, and teamwork in a fun, supportive environment. Athletes will learn basic stunts, jumps, motions, and tumbling while developing coordination, strength, and a love for cheer. Classes focus on skill progression and confidence, giving every participant the tools to grow and shine on and off the mat.

Recreational Cheer Class Options

MINI CHEER 101

This class offers a fun introduction to cheerleading for younger athletes. Participants learn basic motions, jumps and tumbling drills in a year-round setting designed to build strength, coordination and enthusiasm for cheer. The emphasis is on foundational skills, confidence and positive movement experiences.

MINI CHEER 201

Built for those who have completed Mini Cheer 101, this class advances the fundamentals and introduces more complex skills and combinations. Dancers deepen their motion technique, refine jumps and add tumbling progressions in a supportive group that encourages athletic growth and imaginative performance.

YOUTH CHEER 101

Perfect for new cheer athletes who want to try the sport without full team commitment, this class focuses on foundational cheer skills. Participants will learn proper cheer motions, jumps, and tumbling basics, while developing balance, body control and confidence in a class-based setting.

YOUTH CHEER 201

For athletes who have completed Youth Cheer 101 or the equivalent, this class elevates their cheer skillset. The focus shifts to smooth transitions between motions, stronger jumps, refined tumbling sequences and enhanced timing — all in a positive, growth-oriented environment built for advancing athletes.

JUMPS

This specialized class is dedicated to perfecting cheerleading jumps — from toe touches and hurdlers to pikes and beyond. Athletes work on body position, flexibility, timing and power in focused drills that support jump height, consistency and overall jump quality throughout their cheer journey.

HIGH SCHOOL TRYOUT PREP

Designed for high school athletes preparing for cheer tryouts, this class offers a targeted approach to mastering motions, dance routines, jumps, tumbling and stunting technique. Participants will receive personalized feedback, experience a mock tryout format, and gain the skills and confidence to stand out in front of judges.
